Schlundt Hall, tucked between Memorial Union and College Avenue, is home to chemistry labs, lecture halls and one refrigerator-sized mystery: a locked safe.
“I have no idea what’s in that safe, but I’d be interested in finding out, ” Chemistry Dept. staff member Rich Winkel said.
Even the Head Building Coordinator is at a loss when it comes to the wall-safe’s story.
“It’s been there forever, longer than me. The only person who might know anything would be Dr. Murmann, but he retired,” Bill Velma said.
Velma said Dr. Murmann became an adjunct professor and is still in the building on occasion. He was out of the office at the time of reporting.
